Max Mack

Max works with adults, adolescents, and children with various presentations, including mood issues, anxiety, and other complex presentations. Max possesses a distinct passion for supporting neurodiverse children and adolescents, focusing on enhancing their emotional regulation skills and addressing any co-occurring mental health challenges they may face. 


Max offers targeted assessments, covering executive functioning, cognitive and learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Max is committed to tailoring therapeutic interventions and assessments to meet the individual’s unique needs. His approach revolves around empowering individuals to support them in achieving their goals.

Max recently completed his Masters in Clinical Psychology at CQU and made the move to SE QLD. Max is a beach-loving, dog-walking enthusiast who cherishes quality time with friends and family. When not immersed in the world of psychology, you can find Max cheering on the West Tigers in the NRL, or building his vinyl record collection.

Max prioritizes the establishment of positive relationships in therapy, recognizing that trust and rapport are foundational. This creates a safe space for open communication, enhancing the therapeutic process and fostering a collaborative environment for addressing challenges.


Max is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). By drawing on both CBT and ACT, Max provides a comprehensive and holistic approach to therapy that addresses not only the symptoms of mental health conditions but also the underlying thought processes and behavioural patterns that contribute to them. 


Prior to working as a psychologist, Max worked in bothgovernment and non-government organizations in the community sector. His insights from roles in government organizations uniquely inform his understanding of how government systems impact on individuals and families.


Max holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology (with Distinction). His commitment to providing high-quality psychological support is reflected in his dedication to enhancing the well-being of people he works with.
