Melita Inglis completed her training at The University of Melbourne, La Trobe University and Charles Darwin University. As well as working 'closer to home' in Victoria, the Northern Territory and Queensland in both the private and non government sectors, Melita spent many years in the United States, England and South America in a variety of education and health care roles. A registered psychologist and qualified social worker, Melita also completed post-graduate teacher training to work with school children in Peru.

Melita is trained in a broad range of therapeutic approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy. She also uses aspects of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy in her work, and continues to extend her training in the field of trauma. Melita's broad training background and rich professional and personal experience base allow her to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of her clients.

In fact it is as much Melita's extensive travels and life experience as her professional training and clinical practice that she credits for her capacity to relate to her clients. Melita has a warm, gentle approach which enables people to engage in therapy at their own pace, and she is able to adapt her style and approach to suit each client. Melita derives a lot of pleasure from working with people to realise their goals and to achieve their full potential, and feels genuine admiration for people who are courageous enough to engage in therapy. Melita has the requisite experience and skill-set to work with most psychological issues, and has a special interest in working with trauma, substance use and gambling.

In her private time Melita loves to continue her travels and spend time with family and friends. She particularly enjoys bushwalking, climbing mountains, yoga and photography.

Melita works with men, women, and adolescents. Ripple Psychology's extended operating hours guarantee that you will have little or no wait time to see either Melita or her practice partner Dave Clarke.
