Jessie McDonald is a registered psychologist who completed her Master of Clinical Psychology, Master of Mental Health (Psychotherapy) and Honours degree in Psychological Science at the University of Queensland. Jessie has experience in a range of clinical settings, including private practice, child and adolescent mental health services, mobile outreach services, persistent pain programs, aged care facilities and clinical research departments.

Jessie is a warm and authentic therapist who enjoys working with individuals across the life-span. Her therapeutic aim is to provide a safe and collaborative environment in which clients can safely connect, understand and explore issues. Jessie practices from an attachment framework, incorporating evidence-based skills training and exploratory discussion to help clients manage difficult emotions and make positive changes in their lives.

Jessie is trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour, Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR; undergoing accreditation), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She is also an accredited Triple P Practitioner (Positive Parenting Program). Jessie is currently involved in research at the UQ School of Psychology which informs her clinical practice.

Jessie has a particular interest in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety (GAD, OCD & Adjustment), Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Persistent Pain Conditions, Neurocognitive Disorders (including Dementia), relationship and interpersonal concerns, and trauma.
